An alumnus of Stivers and Wright State University, Steffin is currently studying with legendary pianist Andre Watts at Indiana University. Steffin, who recently wowed the audience at TedX Dayton, will perform with accompanying projected images in the Planetarium.

The youngest-ever winner of our Young Talent Search, 12-year-old Taylor has been playing the piano since she was three! Taylor won the gold and grand prizes in the World Piano Competition in Cincinnati in 2011, and made her Carnegie Hall debut at the age of nine!

The first vocalist to ever win our Young Talent Search, Kathleen is currently studying vocal performance at the University of Wisconsin. She returns home to Dayton just for this event!

 

Amanda Roberts

Amanda Roberts

A staff accompanist in the Dept. of Music and the Dept. of Theatre, Dance, and Motion Pictures at Wright State University, Amanda is the rehearsal accompanist for the DPO Chorus, a private studio teacher, a composer, and an active member of the Dayton Music Club. She will play the hammer dulcimer with guitarist Mike McDermott.

A senior at Centerville HIgh School, and a winner from last year's Young Talent Search, Matthew's most recent accolade was winning the David L. Pierson Young Musicians Concerto Competition, getting to perform the Dvorak Cello Concerto with the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra.

Jim McCutcheon

Host of Discover Classical’s “The Intimate Guitar,” Jim McCutcheon has owned and operated McCutcheon Music with his wife Debbie for more than 25 years. Jim teaches guitar at the University of Dayton, Wright State University, Miami University, and McCutcheon Music, and is longtime president of the Dayton Classical Guitar Society.

A remarkable student of Jim McCutcheon, Yemani is set to graduate from the University of Dayton with a degree in Music Threapy. A frequent live guest on "Intimate Guitar", Yemani shares his talent and love of "the instrument held closest to the heart."

UD Jazztet

UD Jazztet

The six members of the University of Dayton Faculty Jazztet are members of the UD music faculty and accomplished jazz artists. The members of the Jazztet include: Dr. WIllie Morris, III - saxophone, Matthew Anklan - trumpet, Brent Galaher - saxophone, Jim Leslie - drums, Phil Burkhead - Piano and Eddie Brookshire - bass.

Harps of Grace

HARPS Of Grace

Formed in 2003, and led by Leslie Stratton, principal harpist for the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra, the Harps of Grace is a group of harp enthusiasts from quite varied backgrounds. The ensemble gives two concerts per year—one in early December and one in the Spring—and is available to perform for a variety of privately held events.
