Gustav Mahler

If a composer could say what he had to say in words he would not bother trying to say it in music.
--Gustav Mahler

This year marks the 150th anniversary of the birth of Gustav Mahler. To mark the occasion, beginning in September, Bob Johnstone on A Musical Offering (Sundays 2-6PM) will feature a Mahler Retrospective, all 10 Mahler symphonies (including the Deryck Cooke realization of No. 10, left incomplete at the composer’s death) and five of Mahler’s choral/vocal works.
